Blair R. Zwillman is a partner and director of the criminal practice group at The Beinhaker Law Firm. His practice area includes all federal, state and municipal cases including murder, assault, terroristic threats, kidnapping, all sexual crimes, sexual abuse of children, child pornography, robbery, bias crimes, arson, criminal mischief, burglary, trespass, theft and related offenses, embezzlement, forgery, fraud (generally), domestic violence, bribery, perjury, false swearing, obstruction, hindering, misconduct in office, disorderly conduct, all drug cases, gambling, possession of guns (firearms), racketeering, mail fraud, wire fraud, securities fraud, mortgage fraud, prostitution, conspiracy, counterfeiting, escape, forfeiture, and extradition proceedings. He also represents individuals who have been summoned to appear before state or federal grand juries, healthcare professionals (including doctors and nurses before licensing boards), attorneys, public officials, and other individuals who have been summoned by or charged by administrative bodies.

Blair has tried in excess of 70 criminal trials. He is licensed in New Jersey, New York, the federal court in the District of New Jersey, and the federal courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He has been a New Jersey Certified Criminal Trial Attorney since 1982. In addition, he is a former President of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey and the former Chairman of the District VB Ethics Committee in Essex County, NJ. He has been quoted extensively in the media and is frequently called upon to comment on current legal events. He graduated from Lafayette College and cum laude from the New England School of Law in Boston where he was an associate editor of the Law Review.

He served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joseph M. Thuring in the Superior Court of New Jersey and also served as deputy attorney general in the New Jersey Attorney General’s office.

Mr. Zwillman has had the highest rating provided by Martindale-Hubbell for his legal ability and ethical standards for the past 24 years and has been declared a New Jersey “Super Lawyer” since 2005. He has been named a “Best Lawyer” by Woodward/White, Inc. continually since 2011 and has also been selected as a “Fellow” of the American Bar Foundation.
